You may use the site for lawful, personal, educational, and professional purposes. You agree not to:
- Copy, scrape, or bulk-download site content, including with automated tools, except as allowed under Our content below
- Use site content to train artificial intelligence or machine-learning models without our written permission
- Interfere with the site's security or operation, or try to access accounts or areas you are not authorized to use

Our content
The CRAFT owns, or has permission to use, the content on this site, including research summaries, Evidence Labels, articles, collections, podcasts, videos, graphics, and our name and logo.
What educators can do. We want our work used in classrooms and schools. You may download, print, and share our free resources for non-commercial educational use, such as teaching, professional development, coaching, and school or district planning, as long as you:
- Keep The CRAFT's name and any credits on the material
- Link back to thecraftedu.org when sharing online
- Do not sell the material or include it in a paid product or service
What needs permission. Commercial use, republishing full articles or collections, editing our materials and presenting them as ours, or using our name or logo in a way that suggests endorsement requires written permission. Email info@thecraftedu.org.
Member-only resources are for the member's own use and may not be shared outside the membership.
Research summaries and Evidence Labels
Our research summaries, Evidence Labels, and evidence ratings reflect our good-faith reading of the available studies at the time of publication. They are educational information, not a guarantee of results in any particular school or classroom.
- Evidence Labels describe the overall strength of research behind a practice, including how it aligns with ESSA evidence tiers. They are not an official determination by the U.S. Department of Education or any state agency.
- Research changes. We may revise a summary or label as new studies appear, and we note the date of each update.
- Decisions about curriculum, instruction, student services, or funding should consider your local context and, where appropriate, your district's policies and professionals.
Accounts, memberships, and donations
Accounts. If you create an account, keep your login details private and give us accurate information. You are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us right away if you think it has been misused.
Memberships. Membership tiers, prices, and benefits are described on our membership page. Paid memberships [renew automatically at the end of each term unless canceled before the renewal date]. You can cancel at any time; cancellation stops future charges, and benefits continue through the end of the paid term. [Refund terms: e.g., we refund new memberships canceled within 14 days.] We may change membership prices or benefits with at least 30 days' notice.
Donations. Donations to The CRAFT are generally tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law; we are a 501(c)(3) organization, EIN 39-3637800. Donations are not refundable except in cases of error or unauthorized use; contact us within 30 days. Gifts are used to support our mission, and restricted gifts are honored as designated.
What you share with us
When you send us comments, stories, lesson ideas, photos, survey answers, or other materials outside a formal research study, you keep ownership of them. You give The CRAFT a free, non-exclusive, worldwide license to use, adapt, and share them to support our mission, with credit to you where appropriate.
You confirm that you have the right to share what you send, and that it does not include students' names, faces, or personal information unless you have the required permissions. Materials submitted as part of a research study are governed by that study's consent terms.
Links and other platforms
Our site links to and embeds content from other services, such as our blog, podcast platforms, video hosts, partner organizations, and published research. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their content or practices. A link does not mean we endorse a product, company, or organization.
Mentions of companies, funders, or partners describe our work together. They do not mean those organizations endorse every resource we publish.
Disclaimers and limits of liability
The site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available." We work to keep information accurate and current, but we do not guarantee that the site will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of harmful components, or that any resource will produce particular outcomes.
To the fullest extent allowed by law, The CRAFT, its board, staff, volunteers, and partners are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site or its content. Our total liability for any claim related to the site is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or $100.
You agree to indemnify The CRAFT against claims arising from your misuse of the site or your violation of these terms. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.
Governing law, changes, and contact
Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Maryland, and you consent to their jurisdiction. Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us first so we can try to resolve it informally.
Other terms. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our not enforcing a term is not a waiver of it. These terms, with our Privacy Policy, are the full agreement between you and The CRAFT about the site.
Changes. We may update these terms from time to time. We will post the new version here with a new effective date. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised terms.
